We are so proud!!

Words can not describe how proud Lance and I are of Kiely. In October she auditioned for The Nutcracker and was asked to be Clara. Kiely was thrilled and so were we. Since that time Kiely has put in so many hours of rehearsal time into perfecting her part. She has somehow managed to keep her G.P.A at a 4.17, handle her responsibilities as freshmen class president and keep up with seminary. Lance and I could not hold back the tears as she came on to stage as Clara. She looked beautiful and danced amazing. All the hours of rehearsal and sacrafice had paid off. After the show she got into the car and Lance told her he had never been more proud of her then he was tonight. She got teary eyed and knew how much we love her and support her in her ballet. Last night was her last performance, it was bitter sweet. I was glad to have life be a little normal but sad to see her last performance as Clara. She is already thinking about what she will be casted as next year!

Our great search

Finally, the perfect tree

" The sniff test"

Hailey and Tata

The day after Thanksgiving we went to a place called, Apple Hill in search for the perfect Christmas tree. This is the first year we have gone so early, but we had time so we went. The kids were so excited because we had been to the same place last year. After we arrived the kids examined every tree possible. One was too short or it had a hole in the back. Finally it had been about an hour and a half and Lance informed me he was ready to cut something down. We finally agreeded on a tree. The boys had a great time helping Lance cut the tree down. It was a wonderful memory, much better then when Lance drove us all out to a National Park to find a tree, but that's a story for another day. On the way home we stopped at Mel's Diner. We ate there on the way home last year, so the kids decided it must be a tradition. I cant believe it is already December!

Day Hike

Lance and his father recently were able to go on a day hike. They were both able to take the day off and head to the coast. Every year they go on a hike and I think it is a great tradition. It is one of the great benefits of living close to our families.

Kiely and Dustin's Photo Shoot

I thought these pictures are pretty funny to share. Kiely loves to take pictures of herself. I dont know why she does, but at least she is very confident. Dustin thought it would be fun to try to get in the way of her pictures. At the end he lost the battle because she caught him and kissed him while taking a picture of the two of them!!!

Lucky Girl

I am one lucky girl. My husband has the whole week off. We have many projects to do. I also plan on having some lunch dates and hikes. The kids are also excited to have daddy around. They love when he comes and has lunch with them. He is known around the playground for his amazing kickball ability!!!

Homecoming

Lance, working hard!!

Homecoming night

The finished product

A couple weeks ago Lance and I helped Kiely work on the freshmen class float. Since Kiely is fresmen class president, she was in charge of the float. Which translates into Lance and I being in charge. It was alot of fun and many hours of hard work. My sweet husband took two days off to work on the float. The theme was, "Super Crew" which is a show on MTV. The kids had a blast and we recieved 2nd place. I think Lance and I were more excited than Kiely.

So you think you can dance

Ballet friends

Kiely and her ballet instructor

A couple weeks ago Kiely and I went with her ballet academy to watch, So you think you can dance tour. It was amazing to watch such talented dancers. If you know me, you know I love to dance. Now you know where Kiely gets her passion for dance. The girls had a blast. I have never heard so much screaming in my life. The only dissapointment was that everyone sat the whole time. I have a hard time sitting when music is being played. I did my best to get my groove on while sitting. We did not get to bed until 1:00 a.m. The girls wanted to wait for autographs, but the dancers never came out. Next year I will try to remember to take some motrin before going!!!!!!

Silveyville Pumpkin Farm

We took advantage of Lance's day off and went to the pumpkin patch. This place is so fun and beautiful. Our family loves going there every year. They have ATV rides for the kids and hay rides. My kids love to use the wagons to carry their pumpkins in. Every year the kids take a while to pick out their pumpkins. Dustin always takes forever. He has to carefully examine each one while Andrew picks out the biggest. Hailey told me, I want a cute little one. Kiely being the most knowlegeable of the kids picks one that will be good for carving. It was a great day filled with wonderful weather and great memories.

Happy Birthday Andrew

Andrew just turned 7 last week. I cant believe it! He was so excited for his birthday. He kept asking me the day before , do you know what tomorrow is. Andrew's favorite gifts were his Nintendo DS and his Giants jersey. He is a huge Giants fan and a bigger Lincecum fan. Andrew loves to wear his jersey to school. Thank goodness for spray and wash because it comes home very dirty. Tonight we are taking him and a small group of friends bowling for his party.

Dustin's morning routine

Everyone who knows Dustin, knows he can be a little bit of a spacer. I had to blog about his morning routine because I find it quite funny. He wakes up by 6:30 and heads straight to eat his cereal. The boy loves his cereal. He fills his bowl as high as he possibly can. Then he looks for his favorite spoon because any spoon is not good enough for his cereal. At this point I have just walked in from the gym and he begins to ask me the most random questions about space or the enviorment. I usually do not know the answers. I remind him he needs to get dressed. On his way up he stops in to see Hailey (Gooey, is what he calls her). He saids to her, " Good morning Gooey" and begins to play with her. Slowly he makes it to his room and begins to get dressed. Of course he usually gets distracted by some toy or a book. I come upstairs and he is about half dressed looking at his Pokemon cards. He looks at me and gives me his great smile. So of course I find it hard to get mad at him. Then he asks me to do his hair. I do his hair as he uses a brush as a microphone to lip sing. By this point Andrew in completely ready and out front playing basketball. He realizes he has to feed ou dog, Mandy. He feeds her and usually forgets to close the door to the dog run, so Mandy runs around the garage until I realize she is in there. Then he moves on to making his lunch which I usually fix because he thinks he can take two packs of cookies. When I pull out one of the bags of cookies, he looks at me again with his great smile and saids" Ahhh, you caught me". Last but not least every morning we have to do a zipper check, because it is usually down. We drive to school, I kiss him good bye and ha asks me if I have any lipstick on. As he walks to line up he has to stop at his dirt pile which he calls his creation. I love my sweet Dustin even if he takes FOREVER to get ready for school in the morning.

Casting call

Kiely has been in ballet since she was 3 years old. I think she is an amazing dancer. I know I am totally biased. Recently her ballet theatre had their casting call for the Nutcracker. After a long day of auditioning, she was casted as Clara. If you are not familiar with the Nutcracker ballet, Clara is the one of the lead dancers. Kiely was so excited. She could not hold back her tears. All those years of ballet had finally paid off. Hailey will also be performing. She is going to be a party girl. She is super excited to be in the ballet with Kiely. I am so looking forward to seeing both my girls on stage. We are so proud of our girls, but especially Kiely!!

Back to School

Kiely 9th grade

Dustin 4th grade

Andrew 1st grade

Hailey Pre-K

I could not get a picture of an official first day because we had 3 different first days of school. Kiely is super excited to start high school. The only bummer about the first day of school was she had to wear her student council polo since she is freshmen class president. I think she secretly likes wearing her polo, it makes her feel official. Dustin now has to have recess with the upper grades. He got a new teacher which he is excited about. Andrew could hardly wait to be at school all day like his big brother. Hailey loves her little preschool and so does her mommy. I finally have three mornings a week to have some alone time. I have only been waiting 14 years for this, but who's counting. The kids all recieved school blessings by their father and had great first days. Everything was pretty normal except for the fact that their music teacher is going by a new name this year . It went from Ms. Clark to Mr. Clark. I dont think I need to explain any further. It is a crazy world we live in. I am saddened that my young kids have to deal with these issues. Overall we had great success on our first day back!!

Last minute beach trip

Pizza My Heart shirts

I love the bright colors!

Kiely and Nana

Poor Jack

Emma, Andrew and Dustin
What is a summer vacation without a day at the beach? I invited some friends and my mom up to my favorite beach. So we packed up the kids, beach toys, lunches and sweatshirts and headed to the beach. The kids had so much FUN. They played all day in the water and in the sand. The water was freezing but they did not care at all. Hailey spent a lot of the day burying her friend Jack in the sand. The boys and Emma ran from the waves and got all wrapped up in seaweed. We also had to eat at "Pizza My Heart". The pizza is amazing and they sell cute shirts whuch all the kids are wearing above. On our way out we had waffle cones which they make fresh, YUM. I love being at the beach. It was a great day.

Vampire craziness

Kiely and I are big Stephanie Meyer fans. We went to the Borders midnight party. It was alot of fun. They had a costume contest, trivia and discussions. It was more like a debate. Everyone had a opinion about what would happen to Bella. All the young girls wanted her to end up with Edward and all the moms wanted her to be with Jacob. All the older women thought she should experience motherhood. So if you read the book you know how it ends. Now we cant wait until December for ,Twilight the movie to come out.

Better late than never

The boys had their last day of school on July 17th. Andrew graduated kindergarten and had a wonderful year. He will have the same teacher next year. She loved her class so much and asked if she could move up with them. I am so glad and so in Andew. Dustin finished up 3rd grade. He is excited because our school is now moving off of a track schedule and will now be more traditional. He is getting a new teacher for fourth grade so we do not know much about him. Overall both boys had a good year and are excited to finally be in school together all day.
