Kiely graduated from Vanden High School on June 1, 2012. Her final GPA was 3.8. While at Vanden she was involved in Leadership and her senior class. It was a great school and she had many dedicated teachers. She will be attending Brigham Young University this fall. Lance and I are so proud of her. She is a wonderful young woman and truly a blessing in our lives. We could not ask for a better daughter. She will be missed when she goes off to college but it will be the start of a exciting chapter in her life.
Dustin is officially a teenager. He is a great kid and always is laughing. On his birthday, Kiely took him to watch "Hunger Games" and we went to BJ's for dinner. A couple days later we had a party at the pool we belong to. The kids had a great time. It was his first boy/girl party. Dustin is turning into a wonderful young man. He has a good heart and loves his family.
Hailey was baptized a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints on July 7th. She was so excited. It was so nice to have all our immediate family members with us. It is such a blessing to have family live near by. As soon as Hailey was baptized she said she wanted to do it again. Hailey is the youngest in our family so it was a big milestone in our family. Im proud of Hailey for the good decisions she is making in her life.
A trip to Hawaii is not complete unless you go to a luau. We went to one at the Hale Koa hotel which is on Waikiki Beach. The Hale Koa hotel is owned by the Army. The kids had so much fun watching the polynesian dancers and of course watching one of the locals climb the coconut tree. It was nice to be at a luau where they honor military members.
Kiely had the privilege of being casted as, Alice in "Alice in Wonderland". The Vacaville Ballet Company always does such a fabulous job on their productions. It was her last performance in Vacaville. I was a emotional wreck as I gave her one last hug for her final curtain call. I knew I would be emotional but I was not prepared for how sad I would really be. I have always helped backstage and loved being involved as much as I could in her ballet life. It has become a tradition for me to put on her eyelashes before every show. It was not a planned one but it just became one. Kiely has danced since the age of 3. It has been such a joy to watch her perform for so many years. It seems like I just took her to her first dance class. I am so proud of my girl!!!
We were able to attend church on Sunday at a near by meeting house. It was so fun to hear them say ALOHA from the pulpit. After sacrament meeting we went to walk around the Laie, Oahu temple. It is gorgeous with a fabulous view of the ocean.
Hailey performed in her school Talent Show on thursday night. She did such a good job. I was surprised how calm she was. Kiely choreographed her dance for her and helped her practice. Hailey is a fabulous dancer and definitely can shake it !
To say that Andrew loves baseball is an under statement. The word, passionate comes to mind. He is passionate about baseball. He is always talking about his next game and watching ESPN. Andrew has had a couple of pitching lessons and is doing excellent. He has a strong arm and is confident in his skills. Our 7th baseball season is about to begin and even though it gets hectic, I love watching Andrew play ball.
We had a great Thanksgiving this year. As I was looking for pictures I realized we didn't take many and it was because we were having too much fun. As you can tell from the pictures above there was a lot of dancing. The boys of the family are MIA. They were huddled together watching the 49ers game. I love Thanksgiving. It is such a low stress holiday and it is a time to reflect on the blessings in my life. I am truly blessed with an amazing family.
